The spatial planning and design of event venues which are expected to host large crowds safely cannot succeed without knowledge about typical human dynamics and the expected behavior of a group of visitors. The seminar deals with the engineering standards, measurements and their limits and gives practical advises.
Crowd density, flowrates, avoiding jams, required relief areas, path widths, orientation behavior – all of these essential models, values and techniques concerning human motion in crowds will be demonstrated.
In addition the seminar explains when and how pressure emerges from a crowd, its consequences and which strategies and methods could be used to prevent or reduce a dangerous crowd density.
The seminar also answers the question of so called risk mapping, which describes how potentially dangerous areas and their dynamic progression on a venue can be detected, visualized and prevented.
The main goal is to communicate the dynamics of human flow and movement. Based on this knowledge planning tools will be generated.
The seminar addresses event managers as well as anyone responsible for crowd safety.
